Hand-Made Hope Chest

To this day this is our most popular piece, and the most appropriate wedding gift. For centuries the Hopechest has been considered the brides gift. The vessel into which she placed all those things handed down from mother to daughter, along with her hopes and dreams. Both my grandmothers, my mother and my wife have Hopechests and it has been the one unchangeable tradition in all the families that I've known in my life.

Your hopechest can be made in whatever wood species you desire and whatever color. However, our most popular variation of the chest is made with solid Pennsylvania cherry with a fully red cedar lined interior to protect valuable clothing. All of the hardware is brass. The box is hand dovetailed and the finish is hand rubbed. The base is our traditionally styled molded bracket base with front scroll.

Each Chest is built individually, serialized and registered in your name. It is accompanied by a certificate of ownership that you can frame and is a testimony to your dedication to this family tradition.
